Positive story # 4
Everyday we face challenges and some of these turn into positive stories, some become good memories and show examples to others. Positive is a word which we hear every now and then, what does it means? Are we positive thinkers or positive personalities, whats the value of being positive in your life are we just saying positive for the sake of saying or are we actually practicing it in our daily life. I ask these questions to myself to evaluate if I am positive or a negative person.
After a long and tiring week, all of us just wish to go home early on a weekend. My positive story starts on a weekend, I was all set to go home and the time was 7:15 pm and my family was ready for an outing, as I was already late and my commitments to my family were to reach early, I shut my system and was about to leave, Mr. Naeem handed over a fax which came under my attention with Urgent Collection from Germany through Sea Freight Mode from one of my new customer. I looked at Naeem with a pleasant smile (as usual) thanked him. First thing which came to my mind was should I leave the fax on my table and action it on Saturday morning (ignore it, as I havent received it).Second thing was if I do not action it now will cause a delay of 4-5 days due to Weekend in Europe (Saturday -Sunday off ). The third thing was the family commitments, to my wife and children (Most dangerous one)so what should I do? Mean while my mind was under the process of making a decision, can you guess what happened next....... I received a text message on my mobile which I thought may be my wife, but it was from one of my customer requesting to quote him on an urgent airfreight shipment. If I fail not to do so in quoting him within an hour will result in losing this deal. I asked myself, do I have any other option now? A replied came immediately with NO you dont have any way to escape and especially in such scenario where a customer is expecting my quote. As I was rewarded the Man of year 2005so I have to prove it to myself that the decision taken by the CEO to select me wasnt wrong. At the same time I started working on both the inquirys which was not an easy job considering the time limitation and weekend. All our vendors were closed and none of them can reply to my inquiry before Monday. Unfortunately Mr. Babur from GAC (did the mistake to take my call) and fortunately for me had received my call lightened up the hope for finalizing this deal, after a long coordination with Babar, we were able to finalize this deal and Alhamdullilah both the shipments moved within the time frame committed to the customer. It was almost 11:00pm when I left for home and my wife was very glad to see me and welcomed me with great honor and respect (if you can believe it). At the end I had a peaceful sleep that night and felt proud of myself.
A week back the same client called me from Afghanistan and requested to quote the rates for his third party delivery, now you can image how this whole incident had built our trust with this customer.

That sounds quite committed, especially when you feel that you've been entrusted responsibility. No doubt it's loyalty that bridges gap in personal and professional life committment.
Think for the best and the best comes around. I believe, it's actually the feeling of contentment you have doing something with honesty ,and that's the sign of piety.
WISH YOU ALL THE BEST!!!
MAY ALLAH BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY
